Cherry Chip Cornflake Cookies

2 ¼ c. all-purpose flour, sifted

1/8 tsp. salt

1 c. butter, softened

½ c. sugar

1 egg

1 tsp. almond flavoring

3/4 c. cornflakes

1 c. cherry chips

Preheat oven to 375°. In a small bowl sift flour and salt together, set aside. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in egg and almond flavoring. Add flour and mix till smooth. Stir in cornflakes and cherry chips. Roll into one-inch balls and place onto ungreased cookie sheets. Press with fork and sprinkle with sugar, if desired. Bake at 375° for 12–15 minutes.
